downstream injector

had 2 general pump downstream injectors that came with my equipment, today decided to get all the mold and junk off my RV and ran into an issue. for about the first 2 min it worked without and issue then stopped pulling from the bucket o goodies completely. after i had some time to relax from the ordeal cleaning the beast turned into i good the siphon hose off tried to blow into the nozzle and nothing. took a small screwdriver that could fit into the hole, pushed the ball bearing up and tired again and went through without an issue. the mix i was using was few ouces of EBC bout 1/3gal of %8 outdoor bleach and about 3 gal of water. did one of these 3 cause the ball to get stuck closed? bad brand for injectors? i closed it again from the water inlet, tried to blow into again and it was completely blocked off. at least i know the issue but what caused it and how can i avoid in the future?
 
I have never used the outdoor bleach, just the stronger stuff.

Maybe something in that outdoor stuff made the ball stick.

The ball will stick sometimes.

I would take it apart and take a look at it, if it has been sitting in a hot area for a while the o-ring could be heat damaged and that might make the ball stick.

There have been times where the ball stuck several times in one job and then never again and I have had some injectors that the ball has never stuck so I think it is just chance.
 
Sometimes older injectors will have problems with the o-rings getting stickey after the first use. The ball is seated to the o-ring when you go to pressure and it sticks to it. The vacuum of the Venturi usually is not enough to overcome this bond and the injector will not work. You can try flipping the o-ring which will sometimes correct the issue or get a repair kit. Sometimes the original spring in the injectors will dissolve extremely fast from the bleach too.
 
I've had them stick before as well. Normally a good shot of WD-40 or your favorite lube seems to solve the sticking issue.
