Driveway help

Guys,

I have been pressure washing my own driveway. I have a 3000 PSI/3 gpm machine. I am using a turbo nozzle to clean the driveway surface. The driveway has dirt, pollen, and mold/mildew build-up. I am using the turbo nozzle to knock the concrete clean with satisfying results. I am only using water to clean, no chemicals. The problem is it is very time consuming. The turbo nozzle is cleaning well in a 2 to 6 inch circular diameter, so it takes a while to clean the whole driveway.

What is the best method for me to increase my productivity? Is there a chemical I can pre-soak the dirveway with to make my cleaning easier and faster?

Thanks for the input!
Grant

Do you plan to do flat work or just your own driveway?

If you plan on going into flat work then invest in a surface cleaner, there is no faster way to clean concrete, with or without chemicals.

If your own driveway I would suggest you not use your turbo but a 15° nozzle, sweep acrose a 3 x 3 foot path, slow and easy as that is about what your arms will cover.

And yes it is very time consuming with any nozzle.

This is my own driveway, but if all goes well I hope to get some friends/family/neighbors to hire me to clean their homes and driveways. For this reason I'd like to improve my productivity as much as possible.

Thanks,

This helped me.

I have tried several things, it all is time consuming.

Based on what you listed is on the driveway, I agree that a 15 tip would be better, and easier to keep a uniform look. I enjoy my turbo, used it tonight, but I like it best for grease, gum, and rough or pitted surfaces.

Try pre-soak with an degreaser, diluted at 1:1, and don't let it dry.
Sweep as posted before. It seems that even regular driveway dirt is a little oily.

Grant,
Go for it and buy a Surface Cleaner. You'll be happier then a pig in **** that you did because now you can clean your driveway 20 times faster then using a Nozzle and your back won't be hurting at all once you complete the job. After completion you will look forward to cleaning your friends/families driveways with this machine and possibly making a few bucks down the road.

Of course if you go this route you will need a nozzle to cut in the perimeters of your driveway after you use a surface cleaner.

Is there any recommendation on a flat surface cleaner? I am on a tight budget, so I'd like to get the most bang for the buck. As I stated above, I am using a 3000 PSI/ 3 gpm machine.

Thanks,
Grant
