An employee of a restaurant on Lakeville Highway used a dry chemical extinguisher to put out a fire in the kitchen on Thursday, but the establishment has been temporarily closed.

<!-- GRAY BOX ARTICLE CONTENT--><!-- /GRAY BOX ARTICLE CONTENT-->Units from the Lakeville, Cal Fire, Wilmar and San Antonio fire agencies responded to a reported kitchen fire at Papa’s Taverna, at 5688 Lakeville Highway, shortly after noon and found that an employee had extinguished the blaze, said Capt. Matt Epstein of the Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department.
