Engine-pump combo...will it work?

Looking at a 25hp kohler command pro engine with a General TSF1819 that pushes out 6.3 gpm 4350 psi. I'm within spec for the formula but really close. Gonna use a belt drive. Will this work or should I increase engine size or decrease pump specs?

The popular formula (psi X gpm) / 1100 allows you to run it at advertized spec. This number is a full governor travel, full throttle, balls-to-the-wall demand on the engine.

I'd prefer to see you use [(psi X gpm) / 1450] X 1.5. That's a much closer to real world running spec. With this formula, you could run 6.3 @ 3800 psi.

Worst thing that could happen is you wont quite make that much psi. If you really needed the 4350 psi for some job you could use a little smaller tip/tips to get your psi but you will have a little less flow

Thanks for the formula. Never seen that one before....hmmmm...maybe a 6gpm at 4000 would be a good comprimise.
