Equipment problem! help please

I have a Landa 5GPM 3000 psi HW skid. I am having a problem with my heat. It seems to have a mind of its own, It will cut on and burn when it wants when the trigger is pulled, heat the water a while and then cut off and not burn. When the trigger is not pulled excess fuel in the form of grey smoke comes out the stack in bursts. I am not sure if this is a fuel supply problem, a flow switch problem or what. Any and all help is appreciated.

Could very well be a clogged fuel filter.

Change fuel filter first. After two days he has probably found the problem already.

I'm kinda having the same problem and I want to change my filter also. Do I have to buy a filter cartridge from the Landa dealer? Its a Landa filter, replacement cartridge: 10-301218. Just wondering if I can get one from NAPA, or some other parts store?

Does it look like this? If so, I know Wix makes a replacement element. I'm sure NAPA would have one too.
