I was thinking of putting together a facebook page for my business. Who has done this and did it result in any jobs? I do not want to mess with it if it does not have the ability to generate more sales! I know it can be a feel good thing but who has generated sales with it. Does it help drive up google rankings or anything?
 
I have one but I don't expect to get jobs from it. It's mainly to get your website up in the rankings. Facebook and Twitter are constantly being crawled by Google. Post a link to your website a couple times a week and your ranking will go up. Thats where the new business will come from.
 
I have one and think it is an easy way to keep your name fresh in customers minds. Even fresh for friends to refer you. They may remember the roof pics you posted a week ago... I have gotten only a few jobs from it - and I may have still gotten them without it.

Like Danny said, my Facebook page ranks high... higher than my own site sometimes..
 
I did a job just last week from someone who found me on FB.
 
I don't know how you get jobs from it Ron. Most of the contacts I work with don't want any business on facebook. Facebook seems to be their way to get away from work.

I'm getting ready to cut it loose. I can't imagine any multi-state or large regional contracts coming from any contacts on facebook.

I have, however gotten connected with some real decisionmakers on LinkedIn
 
I have gotten 2 residential jobs and 1 commercial job from my FaceBook page. I am up to 33 fans...most are previous customers. All it takes is a friend of a fan checking you out!
 
I've actually gotten 2 jobs off FB too. One was a friend of my wifes and who was on my friend list one was a friend of a previous customer who was on my friend list and their friend saw my FB account. :clapping:
