Fatboy pump location

Should I mount my fat boy pump in a battery box or aluminum truck box?? Currently my PW fuel tank and PW battery in in the aluminum box. The aluminum box lid is hot as hell but seems pretty cool inside.

I would NOT put anything that has SH running through it inside a box with a battery. That pump is Glass/Poly. It WILL eventually leak (pump chamber and pressure switch are the most common culprits) and when it does, that is what is known in the Roof Cleaning Industry as a BOMB. SH and Sulphuric acid do not like each other.

Don't believe me? Ask Chris Tucker at Apple about the time some roof cleaning fluid ran under the hood of an old pickup truck parked next to a customer's house.

Personally, I would mount it outside. Heat kills those pumps. This is why there are some companies selling auxiliary heat sinks for them. The only alternative is to mount it in a box with a big 12v fan with intake and exhaust ports.

Mount it outside, wet side down. I put a damp cloth on mine to keep it cool. Also use an accumulator or you'll be replacing relays and or pressure switches all the time.

That's the money maker. I have mine on the back side of my tool box on my trailer (out of the way, but still easily accessible when you need to get to it). Where ever you mount it, put a little thought into where your hose reel will be mounted, where your jumper hose will have to run, ease of access when it breaks in the middle of a job, and plans for future additions to your rig.

Outside it will go on the tool box. We'll call the two holes in my tool box Accidental Venting. thank you
