Filtering smoke/soot from wastewater

I have to cleanup a large area that had smoke damage from a neighboring fire. Normally the wastewater from these surfaces would not be a concern to the local authorities (no harsh chems or oils etc), but with the soot from the smoke I'm hoping to prefilter that out. Is there any way to filter that out of wastewater short of a full filtration unit? Will oil socks grab any of it? I have vacu berms, sand berms and vacuums so I can contain it just need advice on what to do with it thereafter.

through all my years in product development, the answer on this is very specific.. Dissolved solids are the worst challenge in portable filtration..

Flocculation is cheap and extremely effective, but you have to charge for your time..

.. It takes about 15 minutes for every batch, plus dumping time.

And Yes, I can help with a batch treatment system.. simple & potable, or automated & stationary.
