First SC for a start up on residential cleaning

As a start up, which SC would you recommend for residential driveways and sidewalks. I'm not afraid to buy my last surface cleaner first, but please explain why that SC has served you well. Zerts, SS casters, Nylon wheels, more serviceable, what ever you think. I want to include F9barc in my cleaning. Currently I am currently using a Husq pw3300, 3.2 gal/min and will be upgrading soon. SC floats look ok but casters seem to me to be able to provide a more consistent clean.

I clean mostly vinyl sided trailers in this part of Florida with some add on's with the house. Not a lot of concrete, but when there is, it's acres long. As a 1 man operation I am more wanting to please my potential repeat customer than add volume to my business. I was in the Toyota and Lexus car maintenance industry. I understand the customers attention to detail and I have always tried to surpass that. I do realize that my equipment is in need of upgrade, but at this time have found that attention to detail, listening to the customer and addressing their concerns first then washing the home has always been my best focus.

As I grow my business I want to buy the right tools. Thank you for helping me make an informed decision.

Tim.

I would wait until you get your new pressure washer so you can size your surface cleaner to it, not the other way around.

I would go with at least 5 or 5.5gpm for the pressure washer for large areas of concrete and to speed up washing houses, buildings and trailers.

I agree.. gear up for Work Speed .. or you will always be slower, and more expensive, and less profitable, but.. you have to start somewhere.. buy a used surface cleaner. or keep your nose to the grind-stone, until you can buy a bigger system.. and then.. or anytime before.. call me about how instant-capture can reshape your profitability.. ..completely.

With your machine you need a 12" SC. It will take a long time to clean anything. But if that's what you can afford for now, you are at least making money. I started out this way, and still use the 12" for certain jobs, so it's not a total waist to me. I now have a 21" and it's way fast, but you will need 5 plus GPM. If you can get a 5.5 and 20" plus SC now, do it. If not maybe just a small one and it can be used later also for tight jobs. Good luck.

Good advice! Thanks. I've got mostly house and trailer washes lined up for the next week so it's not a trigger I need to pull quite yet. Thanks for keeping me from putting the cart before the horse.
