I was wondering if anyone has used that flat garden hose and what is their opinion about it? Here is the link Alan gave me to it.

Thanks for the website Alan. I really like the idea of this to eliminate space. I have a 7.5x16 trailer and I am running out of room.

Steve,
Your Welcome for the link. Please note that this should not be compared to flat garden hose though. It is supposed to be the same high quality and high strength as Full Size Fire Hose. Just in a smaller size. As said earlier, I have 150' of it on order.
It was designed for home firefighting use, but I have been told do not let the word "home" interfere.

one thing to remember about flat hose.

you need to unroll every bit of it every time.
So either you keep a ton of it on one hose reel and disconnect it every time to hook to your unit or tank.[just unroll what you need]
Or you need to dump it all every time.
This is why fire trucks have a pre-connect and a hose bed.
The pre-connect [flat hose type] needs to be layed out every time.
The supply hose needs to be disconnected at the langth you need and hooked up to a outlet on the fire truck.
If you dont typicaly unroll a min of 50 ft of supply hose or more then this type of hose will slow you down, not speed you up.
Mr Alan,
would'nt it be nice to do commerical cleaning with a fire truck?
You could rinse down parking lots.
Use a deck gun to wash commerical buildings.
Use the snorkel to do roofs.
Lots of cabinets. A pre-connected electric hose reel in the rear.
No more traffic jams.
Great advertisement.
Fill the tank with DI water and use the deck gun to wash down whole car dealerships in about an hour.
Nice place to keep your ladders.
Lights for night work.
Nice cab to carry your help.
This might just be better then Dave Olsons equipment.
Where do we mount the burner? :D

Ron,thats a hell of an idea if you could wash down a whole dealership in an hour you could put fleetwash out of buisness.

i wonder how fleetwash would feel when they went to sell an account and found out you were doing them for .10 a piece. LOL

Obvoiusly you'd use an old one, but the big detterent there is they don't go very fast..............it would take so long to get from job to job.........other then that a pretty cool idea overall.

I have had many visions of how to adapt an old Fire Unit to this work. All the points you said, are true, however I never thought of the Deck gun for Car Lots. Love that storage.
I do have a Gas Powered pump that I can washdown with, it is rated at 142 GPM, I can bypass some back to the tank, so that I get dial in how many gallons I want and not wear out my supply so fast.

FIRE UNDER PRESSURE

Just think of the roofs you could clean in FLA.
All volume little pressure.
Store fronts would be a breeze.
You could wash signs.
Change bulbs in the parking lots.
Install a spray bar and do new cont wash downs.
Use the PTO to install a hyd. power pressure pump.
When you find the best way to hook in the heater you could run quite a few surface cleaners with multiable pumps.
You could rinse like no one else.
MONSTER GARAGE PROJECT #100 now that i would like to see.

Here are some pictures of a friend of mine's rig he is using High Volume Low Pressure Systems for their washing.

Typical applications are building washing, parking lot wash downs, etc.

the results are AWESOME! He also has a bigger unit / water truck / wash rig.

The pump I was talking about came off a trailer very similar to the one that Mark posted. I do not have my trailer plumbed as a water sweeper like that though.
