Flatbed Truck Help

I'm looking for a mythical truck! I need to put together a new truck in about 8 months. I've been looking at the Isuzu NPR flatbed and that has been the base so far. However, I don't need the 12-15k GVW. I was hoping to find something a little more efficient and agile.
Does anyone know of a diesel truck with roughly a 9ft flatbed, 6-9k GVW (not dually), and a crew or extended cab would be nice. I was relying on the promise the 3 US automakers made about launching their light duty diesels, and it's just not going to happen.
I have no intentions of moving to Europe!

have you seen the sprinters? a garage door installer friend of mine has a 3500 flatbed customized nicely, im thinking your looking at efficiency as gas mileage which is why i mention his truck. it gets 30mpg. but ive heard that the trucks are riddled with problems, although hes had his for 5 years and has had no problems and he carries some heavy loads. you could chop the van up with a crew cab and flat bed...it definitely would stand out havent seen anyone do a pw flatbed with one of those yet

I've considered the sprinter, but some of our fleet accounts that use them say "STAY AWAY". It would also be nice to avoid the height. Again, I know it's mythical, but if I could keep it under 6.5-7ft tall, it would be nice...

Sprinter=MAINTINANCE$

Look at a F250-350 service body truck. Wait about 2 months and they usually get dumped on the market from January until April, then the market will pick up.

I have 2 (possibly 3 starting next qtr) large accounts that need multiple services. They cover a large area. I'll have a crew of 3 on the road. I'm building a diesel unit putting out about 9gpm with reclaim, everything custom. I don't need to haul water, but I plan to recover/recycle/dispose onsite. I figured it would be getting some serious miles, and thought fuel efficiency would matter, as well as tires and general maint. Maneuverability is a plus, too. Some locations have height restrictions (8' is the lowest I am sure of, but want to be prepared for lower). I am trying to avoid trailers and the flatbed insert will be enclosed. F-250 is an option, but I prefer the short front end. Perhaps a, extended diesel cargo van would work...not a sprinter!
