Posted these pics on thegrimescene.com and wanted to see what you guys here thought (even though its mostly the same people). As Blaine from BioClean mentioned, we are "Rookies" so as any rookie we would like some critiquing! Thanks for ahead of time. :) Oh and if you want, add some pics of your own work and mention if you 2-step or brush. We use to brush, but just switched to 2-stepping about 2 months ago. So far business has been good.

Oh I attempted to blur out the company names...it kind of worked lol

Those pictures look great, the aluminum really came out nice.

What brand of chems are you using?

Did you buy a 2-stepping system or doing it the 2-hose way?

Those pictures would look great on a website and your sales brochures.

Keep up the good work.

Chris-

Thanks!!!

We actually went with the BioClean system. We buy the chemicals from them as well. I couldnt imagine doing fleet washing any other way from here on out.

We currently do not have a brochure or website...still not sure just what to put on. Any tips would be great. Also from all you experts on how to convice the fleet managers to just see a demo. Pretty confident the system will sell itself. Running into a lot of places who do it themselves and we have a good rebudle but I guess not quite good enough. haha Economy is hurting us too. A lot of places saying they love the work but have gotten rid of the fleet washing budget so help save $$$.

pics look great, I dont know how you "fleet guys" do it, but that looks like it would take some time and to get done.

Believe it or not, those day cab tractors took about 15 minutes each. Prob could be faster but we want to give a good wash since most accounts are paying a little higher than average for us to wash. Trailers take about the same time. Trash trucks are taking about 25-35 min a piece (caked with landfill clay) but we get $40 a truck and sometimes $100 because we do "parade quality work". Since switching to 2-stepping one of the companies we clean who is actually a trash company as well won the best looking truck in a competition recently.

That BioClean system sounds like it is working out for you.

I have talked to Blain a couple times but I do not have the opportunity to go see the system, maybe soon.

It sounds like it makes fleet washing a lot faster and easier.

Chris,

This is our set-up. You cant see it, but we also have a vacuum on there for collecting water run-off. It gets the job done, and done well... but we really want the box truck set-up.

Hey Dave,
Good things come to those who are patient!:tongue: We are working on that other connection that if it goes through like it sounds it will would give you guys A LOT of work. We're waiting to hear from them. If it does happen it should make it easier to absorb the expense of the box truck you're looking at. Glad to see that your garbage account seems to be happy with your work. Are you and your father getting used to working with that setup? It sure looks like you are!

Oh we are patient my friend. Time is all we have :) The garbage account loved the work before we switched so you can only imagine what they think now. There were things we couldnt get off like the slop stains where liquid from the dumpsters would drip down on the cab and front of truck. Now its all gone with no brush! haha I love it. Ill post a pic so you can see what I mean. We are certainly getting use to it that is for sure...and the $$$ it brings in. Thanks again for all you do!

The orange trash trucks came out nice.

They do get very nasty and gross.

Have you got any calls to wash the inside of the boxes yet? If/When they do, wear ppe, use those throw-away tyvek coveralls and charge a lot, that stuff is very, very messy.

You talking about the roll off compactors, the carry cans that the residential trucks have on the front or inside the compactor of the truck? Have cleaned the first two but never inside the truck. You think $80 an hr is a good going rate for that or too steep...maybe not enough?

You can say that again. Reminds me of a time when we first started and I was brushing one side of the truck, my dad spraying down the other side. He was spraying me though and I was yelling at him to stop but while in the process of yelling a chunk of garbage was sprayed directly into my mouth. YUM!!! got my protein for the day that was for sure.

I meant the rear and side loaders where the back opens up and they have a hydraulic ram that pushes everything out the back when they get to the landfill.

Lots of juice, wet stuff, aroma and stuff that you don't want to get on yourself.
