How many of you use foamers to apply hood degreaser??
How effective are they , and what brand do you use? I've ben useing 2gal pump up sprayers for over 3 years now, and I'm thinking there has to be a better way.The chem I'm useing now has a thick gel base to it, and I don't see any problem with cutting it with water. I might try my X-Jet with a close range nozzle in it .

I use foaming smokehouse cleaner from Zep.I apply it through my PW with a upstream injector. You need a foaming wand wich mixes air with chem to make the foam.I turn the water intake down 65% turn on the chem and run the water till the foam comes out. Then depending on the size of the job I usually shut the chem off at this time. With 100 feet of pressure line there is now enough chem to do a 6 filter hood, duct ,fan, and all hardware.
I pay 70.00 for a 5 gallon pail but used as above it can last about 3 weeks doing 1 to 2 jobs a day.
I used a pump up sprayer for about 6 years, and will never go back. This saves alot of time,is easier, and cleans better.

Try it you won't be sorry.

Best,John

With the use of the foamer how do you address the fans-verticals and horizontal. In the service of big facilities, malls, hospitals and so on is the system worth a second look? Does Zep sell the equipment for the foamer?

Hey Matt take some notes.

Take Care

David:) :p

fomers

You can foam anyting that you apply chem to now, unless your pw line can't reach there. If your pw line doesn't reach there how are you cleaning it now?

I bought the foaming wand and the upstream injector from my PW dealer.

It was meant as a rhetorical question-however I am interested in foamers and how effective they are. Just have not had much luck.

There is a article in the cleaner times on foamers, It is a two part series if I remember right...
