Ford 150 2011

Was in the dealership yesterday. Thinking about leasing a ford 150 2001 pickup truck to haul my double axle open trailer. The tank is 265 gal but I don't plan on hauling it full. The engine is a v6.

Is this a bad idea? It's all I could afford
Or I could buy a used truck or van but I only have 5 grand to play with
And all the ones I see are over 100.000 miles that seems like a headache waiting to happen

Charles, I'm still looking for you Buddy. Personally there's just no way I'd pay for a new van. There are so many out there, sure they might have a few miles on them, but still I like having the title to all my stuff. Bought an '98 E-250 with 230,000 off of ebay with no problems to speak of $2,400.00.... '02 E-150 100,000 $2700.00.

When buying a used van, look for a "Fleet" van. These have been taken care of. If you run across any used van, check how good the inside of the truck looks, if they have taken care of the inside, pretty sure that everything else has been taken care of too.

But Hey if you're pull'in down big bucks this year, go new.

What Guy said is good advice. Look for a 3 year old work truck or van. 3 years is the standard lease buy out/ end on a commercial lease. The dealer will service the trucks during the lease and they are usually taken care of since the leasee is responsible for damage,

I am NOT into having a truck payment but I do have one. At the present time we are a one car family and the truck I have is used for both work and pleasure. I don't own a boat, a bike or any other fancy toys so my truck is pretty much the extent of it. I also like knowing that I can hop in it and drive anywhere in the country without having to worry as well as knowing that it's ready to go to work everyday without fail.

I recently had to return my leased vehicle back in (Chevy Avalanche) and although I was willing to keep it the numbers were not working out in my favor at all to keep it so I decided to get a new truck. The last 2 trucks I had were leased and this one I'm buying. I don't recommend leasing. It pretty much sucks.

Here is the new 2011 Silverado that I picked up about 3 weeks ago. It has a 5.3 V8 with a tow package and pulls my rig very easily and rides like your driving on a cloud.

Ahh PLEASURE, nothing like a brann new pick up for a little pleasure...oh and work.

Nice truck Larry. You gonna get her letttered up?

Larry...You got rid of the Avalanche?? That thing was pimp! I loved being chauffeured around Tampa in it :) The new truck looks sweet too...even for a Chevy...lol

Hey Guy, What's happening ?

Thanks for your advise, and Everyone else that has offered there opinions. I have seen vans all around with that much mileage and i was worried that if i plunked down 3-5 thousand that i would be throwing
my money away, so i was going to trade in my everyday vehicle (suv) and lease the Ford 150 and use that for business and personal use.
so now i have a decision to make. I think i'm leaning towards used.

p.s...I received your shooter in the mail yesterday. Thanks for the hookup
The 1/4 inch plug needed go to any hardware store or pick one up from Bob?

You still bought a 2 wheel drive? Douche !! Nice truck there shorty........

I bought a used '95 Toyota pick up one time back in '96. Had it for 30 days and it decided to roll over and play dead (I went to sleep at the wheel doing 80..no other vehicles involved though) at the 101/405 interchange 1 morning at about 4:30 Am.

Ever since then and before then I've bought brand new.

I figured the 2 wheel drive and getting stuck would be a way to get to see you again. Haha! I miss ya!

Go V8 period
V6 will kill you in gas and strain your tranny
