Police: Burglar caught in exhaust vent, died
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police say a would-be burglar has died of apparent asphyxiation after getting caught inside the exhaust vent of a Jacksonville restaurant.
Employees of Shane's Sandwich Shop found the man's feet dangling over fryer vats early Tuesday when they showed up for work.
Police say it appears the unidentified man had climbed on the restaurant roof Tuesday night in an attempt to enter the shopping center connected to the building. They say the man was stuck inside a shaft that was about 10 feet long and 36 inches or less in width.
