Fuel selenoid

Is there any way to stop the fuel from discharging when the ignitor is not working? I had a bad battery and fuel loaded up in my burner. When the ignitor did work...It was ugly...How can I solve this problem?

Many of the 12 volt burners have a cad cell flame sensor on them, but they use them to sense flame..not flame out. If the device were to be mounted on your home furnace, once the burner starts, it has to establish a flame within 15 seconds or the cad cell locks out the burner. On a 12 volt, once the cad cell sees a flame front, it drops the transformer out to conserve battery amperage. Does your machine have one at all? If not, one may be retrofitted to your burner. It may require mounting an electrical box on the side of your burner and you'll have to do some re-wiring.

Thanks Russ for your response... Surely somebody out there has some type of relay or something to stop the fuel from dumping. What I would give for a trouble free heater system!!!

Well something to think about.
The Flame sensor cuts the power to the Coil when a flame is established.
There may be a way to use this Idea.
The problem is that these devices work to start the burn process then they time out when the flame is going. So we are Dead in the water there. So the solution is found elsewhere.
Lets look at a Stationary Natural Gas machine and how it works. The pilot light has a sensor on it that will not keep the burner running if there is no heat on the sensor. A Thermocoupler. Well even with that we have a problem using it with a Diesel Burner. We have no heat to start with so we are dead in the water from the get go.
Then we have the problem of trigger gun control. When we let off of the trigger the heat stops and our Imaginary device will trip off and stop the burner from lighting again.
Hmmm we have to put some thought into this.
