Need help matching pumps to compressors. What are you running with and what is required in a nutshell?
Compressor?
Pump?
Hose size?
Shingle and tile swfl roofing.
Thanks everyone. Joe

Each AODD pump should have a flow chart , look for those as a resource. Should tell you the CFM you need at a certain psi to reach its max flow. It all varies so check the chart for that pump. I think you will want a compressor that can produce around 13-15 CFM at 90 PSI for most 1/2" pumps.

1/2" 9-15 CFM. 15 will max out just about every 1/2" pump there is.
3/4" 12-20 CFM. Most 3/4" pumps will be best around 16-18.

Note, the 3/4" pump size is actually pretty rare. Most of my guys opt to go 1" because a 3/4" pump doesn't spray that much more than a 1/2" pump that is maxed out and a 1" pump gives you a very clear CFM upgrade path.
If you have at least 18 CFM, I prefer 1" over 3/4". I have a number of guys running 1" pumps with the Harbor Freight 18 CFM truck mount comp. What they don't realize is how much more that 1" pump is capable of when you put a lot of air behind it.

For giggles...1" pump. 18-45 CFM.

I run 60 CFM with whatever pump I happen to be testing that day and we always have a 1" pump onboard.

2" Pump. 60-180 CFM. My 2" pump is just getting going with 60 CFM. It wants a LOT of air. A LOT.

About 2 months of going crazy trying to put a system together on my current budget is telling me hold off and save up more Ching and go big. Actually looked at the Barbour Freight truck mount yesterday, not a bad buy. I really want the larger hose and pump. I've found a couple used truck mount ac's on craigslist worthy of a look but the drive sucks.
Definitely be giving you a call for a used pump. I sent you a message about the 3/8 aro just disregard it. Your YouTube video was great not being on a truck yet. Easy to see and ultimately made my mind up about skipping little momma.

Well, don't hesitate to call me if you have any questions. Air Systems are a bit more complex than Electric, but no so much so that the average person with average or even below average skills can put one together. Once you experience it, you won't go back.

The HF truck mount compressor actually does okay on a 1" pump...I have a number of guys using that combo. Not too much flow and affordable. If you have the coin or can find good deal on a bigger Air Comp then it never hurts. Also...remember your compressor can be used for other things besides driving the air pump. Put on an air reel and hose...roof debris blowdowns or debris removal around houses. I run a Soda Blaster off mine to clean up the pumps. Air tools, tire inflator...no excuse to EVER have low tires on your truck! Cutoff wheel. die grinder. It is a super flexible tool.
