Hammerhead surface cleaner

hi there
got a 20' Hammerhead surface cleaner to use with my 5.5gpm and the last 2 driveways I've seen some sort of striping or marks, so I believe there too much pressure and cheap-a** concrete.

The tips on the SC have no marks at all, but I guess they're 15degree but not sure. I want to lower the pressure when cleaning and was wondering which tips should I get. I was thinking something like 2535 or 1540, but if someone has a similar setup and want to advice I'd appreciate it.

You're running with 4GPM right? Get two sets, (2) 15 degrees @ 2GPM and (2) 25 degrees @ 2GPM. Try both and see which you prefer. I think the standard is 15 degrees.. but if you are cleaning some decently clean concrete, you can try the 25 degree tips and walk a little faster after pretreating with the appropriate cleaner.

Besides your striping problem. How do you like the hammerhead?

I was going to buy a Hammerhead, but was advised against it because I usually run with the heat set at 176. Anyone use one for a long time at this temp range?

I do all the time you just have to grease it every couple of days. Easy to do. I love mine I think it is the best SC in the under 700 dollar range. It cleans better than my whispers if you ask me.

If you want kick a$$ cleaning get a Landa water jet or a steel eagle with a dubblin swivel .

You can also adjust the height on your swivel. loosen 3 of the 4 top bolts. Then the bolt that faces sideways. pull up on the swivel till it is flush with the deck on the underside. Tighten them back up and go.

I agree with Kory. Its one of the best I have used for the money. I like the fact that it's so lite and very easy to manuver. :thumbup2: :thumbup2:

We have a few of the Hammer Heads and use with heat everyday. I have had them for two and a half years now without having to repair the swivels yet.

i am having the same problem with my HH. i determined that it was eating up the grout on the outsid edges because that's where the striping would occur. lifting up the swivle sound like a great idea. i'm going to try it tommorrow. i'm just glad to hear someone else having the same problem as me. i thought i was the only one. i tried blending to no avail. thanks.

What's everyone doin to remove the lines? Also, anyone kno right off what size tips I need for the hammerhead? I'm runnin 5gpm at 3500psi

The Hammerhead comes stock with 1502 nozzles. You may want to change them to 2502 tips with 5.5gpm. If your still leaving some striping hit the concrete with a lt coat of SH when your done. The lines will dissapear. I end up with lines from time to time on certain types of concrete. I think we all do.

Russ you hit the nail on the head.
