Health insurance and commercial vehicle/trailer coverage..

So how much are most of you paying for health insurance/dental? I have heard of anywhere from $400-600 !

Or what other avenues have you found to get cheaper coverage alone?

Also do you have to let your insurance company know you are using one of your vehicles to run your business, tow your trailer etc.. Which of course then = higher premium?

Do you insure your rig/trailer all through you exisiting car insurance company? Currently I have allstate and have not spoken them yet and would like to know what to expect..

HEALTH INSURANCE HERE IS ABOUT $1000.00 TO $1300.00 A MONTH. THERE ARE SOME PROGRAMS HERE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES BUT YOU CAN ONLY MAKE AROUND $4200.00 A YEAR TO BE ELIGIBLE. I DON'T BELEIVE THIS PRICE INCLUDES DENTAL.
 
Russ that is very cheap for a group or individual policy. I checked on a group and individual the prices were around 900.00 to 1100.00 a month. hhhmmmmm
 
funny this came up. I just got quoted today from BCBS for around 180 a month for 250.00
and 150 for 1,000.00 on the deductables.
 
Has anyone looked into forming an orginization that we could all join and buy insurance as a large group? Our renewals just came in with a 20% increase. For me my wife and three kids 850.00 a month. If all of us could form a group, we would have more buying power and get better rates. I would be willing to look into this if anyone thought it was feasable. Let me know.
 
I have a buddy in the insurance business that specializes in small to medium groups. I'll ask him what we can do. I have my insurance through him and its $230.00 per month with BCBS. The company my wife works for just switched to using him because he was able to get lower rates. I'll see what he says about the group thing.
 
I would be interested. My current insurance sucks.
 
i just got a quote for me and my wife the cheapest we could go was 850 a month with a 10,000 deductible. i dont even know why we would have insurance for that price. it would be nice to join a group and get some better benefits.
 
I just spoke to my buddy about the group insurance. It can be done pretty easily, The main problem is that there has to one source for payment. Everyone would have to send there payments into one person and that person would have to send one check to him. Creating the group or association is the easy part. So if someone can come up with an easy way to collect the payments each month we can do it. If this sounds like something we want to persure, let me know and i'll get him to get some pricing together.
 
i think it would be easy, we would just make the checks payable to the group. we just need someone more motivated than me to be in charge of it.
 
One way to enjoy group health insurance discounted rates is to utilize a payroll company, a PEO; (ie PayChex, Ceridian, One Source). Shop them around. Just like with insurance carriers, it pays to comparison shop.
 
I have had my own policy for 15yrs now and I am up to $2000.00 every 2 months for BCBS of FL, that is for just me and my wife. When I first got the policy it was $750.00 for both of us. I wish I could get that kind of an increase for my buisness.
