Does any one have or use or know of a "PORTABLE" wash pad that is sutibule for using on gravel parking areas. And that can handle a really big travel lift going over it???? Please respond if you have any ideas. Havent had any luck finding one !!!! Thanks for the help :help:

We use over road truck tarps like the ones flatbedders use. I forgot the company name that we use but they make them any size we want, they are very heavy duty.
When working on gravel we put 2 foot strips of plywood ( one sheet ripped in two makes a 2x8 sheet) end to end so the tires drive on the wood and the tarp doesnt get punctured by rocks. It works great. Once your set up you roll on and off and it goes fast.

That is a great idea Richard, I never thought of those tarps. There are a lot of places to get them also. Boards are a good idea too.

there is a material called rumber that is made out of crushed recycled tires. It is very tough and durable. you can buy it in custom lengths and strips. www.basicconcepts.com - these guys are extremely helpful ask for Sid.

They also produce a very tough and expensive wash pad that may work in this situation. I am ordering one for on site reclamation of 90,000 lb. tracked equipment. I am also using other precautions for this application as well, but the pad itself might be sufficient for you. hope this helps!

Why not just have the boat positioned correctly and then setup the mat underneath?
You can tie ropes to it and pull it from the back to the front without being under the boat, just run the ropes first.
I think that would be easier than getting a new mat unless you don't have a mat right now.
