Hot box question

Current pump - 5.6 GPM

I'm in the market for a hotbox and was wondering if it would hurt or cause problems to use this pump with a hotbox designed for 8-12 GPM.

I ask because I plan on picking up another cold water unit and was planning on connecting the two, but until then it will be just the 5.6

Thanks a lot Russ

The system can be "capable of" a bigger fire, but set up with a smaller fire until you need it.
We will simply choose a burner nozzle which won't overheat what you have, until you get the new pump..
..then we change the fuel nozzle to max-fire, and you're steamin' like crazy.

We have 6 to 8gpm and 10 to 12 gpm heaters in the warehouse right now,
..and NONE last longer than ours.

Good stuff, thanks for the knowledge Jerry!

Jerry, what's the heat rise?

Quick, easy answer Halston, yes you can. The fire rate could be downsized for a reduced flow, or you can just let the thermostat regulate the heat.

I am looking into get a hot box myself, where is a good place online to check them out ?

I think Jerry was letting you know he has them. Although when you click on the site he has in his signature you come up with a dns error.
Why not ask Russ, he can get anything and his prices are more than fair.

Heater options

Yep,
my website is being replaced completely right now,
..so call me or e-mail me questions please.

If I remember correctly..
The 20" heater with the big burner does 150 degrees heat rise at 6gpm, 100 degres with 8gpm.
..they can handle a 3.5 to 4 gph fire depending on the burner and your altitude.
the 24" heater does 150 degrees with 8gpm, and 100 degrees with 12 gpm.
..they can handle a 4 to 5+gph fire depending on burner and your altitude.
..there are lots of options here, at our little HotRod Shop. :{)

Standard.. are the redundant temp controls, redundant pressure controls,
Earthquake straps with grade-8 hardware to keep 'em fastened down "no matter what",
3-step powdercoating, Stainless shells, cleanable fuel-water separators, a Fuel Pressure Gauge,
the BEEFiest electrical systems with properly placed fuses, troubleshooting indicators & "easy-access test points".
..It's all about Reliability, the rapid elimination of downtime, and our reputation for "Long-Term-Low-Cost".
..or we wouldn't bother to build 'em.
Oh yea.. horizontal, "side-out", and low-profile "van-mount" versions are available.
..We are the Hot-Rod shop..
.. We build Performance for your dollar .. that's why we call 'em "Race-Ready".
