house wash mix

I was looking at the chemical mixes for dummies and saw the house wash mix.
2 gals of chlorine
1 cup tide
2 squirts of cascade
2-1/2 gals of water

My question is can I substitute the chlorine with bleach?

Tide is for washing clothes Cascade is for dishes. Please research some of the post. There are many here that will guide you to the proper products to wash houses. Looks like you have found some very old post. Please do not take this response as sarcasm. I have a long history of helping people and I hate to see someone make this kind of mistake. Your first impression with a homeowner is the one that last. You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

Keep searching, I don't use tide, other laundry soaps or dish soaps.

Your machine might clean when diluting the Sh or might not as all SH is not made the same, the stuff in florida and NC is a lot stronger than what I have got from 4 different distributors here in Texas.

I have used Simple Cherry for many years and still have some left but recently got some Roof Snot from Russ at Southside Equipment and really like it. It does not weaken the SH like most other soaps out there do.

Do some more reading or searching or try some stuff on your own house to see what works as what people list on forums might not work exactly for you as it does for them due to different machines, hoses, supply, experience, etc...... many factors will change how things work out in the field compared to what people post.

Bleach and chorine are pretty much the same, excepting SH content and that's the big difference. Household bleach = about 5.5% SH, germicidal about 8.25%, pool chlorine 12.25%.

How would you apply that mix?

Here in central florida, I have had much success with SH mixed to different ratios depending on severity of dirt. For my worst ( spider webs and eggs , midges , and heavy bug infestation I DS 5:1 adding about 2 oz of ultra Gain to my SH ( 5 gallon pail ) this is very strong. rarely do this mix. For lighter work I just Dilute The SH prior to DS. I want to try a product called AWESOME for homes that do not want chlorine or the after smell. It is a yellow color sold at home depot.

Using liquid hypo is standard practice in house washing,...you need to explain to the customers that the "smell",...won't last very long,...in reality if there is much more than a sensation of bleach odor, it was most likely applied too strong, which equal wasted material and possible browning of plants. It is the hypo in the mix that kills both the black and green mold and also makes bug crap stains disappear. If a customer told me what to use or what I couldn't use I would explain first and then they could decide to go with my plan or call someone else. I am the professional not the customers,..and you need to understand that and stand behind it.

I agree, If the customer thought they knew more than I did "I would ask them why they called me". You are the professional, not the customer. Many times the customer would read an article or search the internet and think they were an expert. There are products to mask the smell of bleach. I carried one "Lemonator" but most felt they could not justify the price, and yes it did work well. What do you think would happen if you took your car to the shop and told the how to repair it? That is what I thought.

Thanks guys, to clear things up I was going to try it on my house first to see if It even worked. I have looked at other products and will probably go with those in the end just wasn't sure if someone had use this or not. I am just in a place were we do not have any suppliers and I will have to order something online. Thanks for the input I will never learn this stuff by my self.
