I will be taking it up to my brothers shop to do some more testing, his floor has a rougher texture like a parking garage. I will post video when I get it done.

For those of you that missed Paul's event in Milwaukee, we got to see the new 40" vacuum surface cleaner deck attached to the mower.

This thing can clean at a good speed and pick up the water. We got to try out lots of different vacuum tools that Jerry sells and see how different brands of vacuum surface cleaners compare to each other in side to side tests.

This was a great event and I think that they had some video, it will probably be posted soon so everyone can see this new cool surface cleaner.

Thanks Paul.

Chris/Paul is this the one I heard about that has belt driven bars Kind of like a Scag Mower where its also self propelled walk behind where you can put that wheel glider on it or a seat glider hooked to it so you don't even have to walk. This is an Idea that I always said would be the way to go. If Paul has not design this then its still out there to be built. I have the Swabby and the best and cheapest way to build a simliar machine for a 1/4 of the price would be to build what I've been saying for years. If that machine wasn't there and it was only a Rumor report.... How good did the Sorocco 40" reclaim the water. Was it fast enough in the process??

John, this 40" deck is propelled by the pressure in the spray bars like the 21" Sirocco surface cleaner.

The deck was mounted to a mower that had a platform that you stand on but was a Zero-turn but you can lift up the standing platform and lock it out of the way if you just want to walk behind it.

The system was efficient in vacuuming the wash water but needs 400cfm minimum according to Jerry as it is a large deck.

Most of us think similar and would get a lot larger system for rougher concrete like 450 or 500cfm because with more cfm you can move even faster and use it on very rough concrete even though you will lose some vacuum seal but will compensate for it with a lot more cfm.

There was some video taken but the guys will post it when they can, there is video with Ron riding the machine and cleaning Paul's shop floor.

Paul has such a huge/cool shop, I think that most of us there got some shop envy. hahahahahaha

You can park probably 6-8 trucks with trailers in there and that was just one half of the shop, you can park the same amout in the other side.

I agree about the belt turning the spray bars faster so more pressure hits the ground but this deck was doing a good job the way it was.

With this deck/mower you can easily clean large areas of concrete a lot faster and with less fatigue than 2 guys with 21" vacuum surface cleaners walking.

I think that this deck and a large cfm vacuum system will change how a lot of contractors clean large areas of concrete, just have to deal with all that sludge/dirt that comes with cleaning large areas of concrete.

I think that this system will allow a lot of contractors to pursue larger accounts than they were used to going after and I think that the new system will pay for itself quickly.

Thanks for the update Chris. I wish I could have been there but I have to many things going on this year. I hope to get out to Pauls place in the future.
So which Sirocco set-up would you recommend?? Which Vac unit did he use when he was demoing his 40" surface machine?? I have him in mind if I purchase another reclaiming set-up down the road. Right now I'm saving every nickle for a rainy day

The 40" vacuum surface deck needs 400cfm minimum.

The Sirocco that Paul had bought from Jerry had the 23hp engine with the blower that makes the 450cfm but with the generator head installed, that pulls some hp from the engine so the cfm's will be less unless you put a larger engine on the system.

I was planning on getting that setup (23hp without generator) that makes the 450cfm but I am thinking of something larger for other projects and uses but will have the cfm's available for this new surface cleaner if/when I get one.

Nigel and I talked last nite about this and had some interesting ideas about this and what we would do different, we will talk about that later.

With this setup you can run the 2 21" Sirocco vacuum surface cleaners or maybe even 3 or the 40" vacuum surface cleaner.

There are many ways to look at this and there will be different opinions on how to attack large areas of concrete.

A good friend of mine is working on a garage right now using 2 of the 21" Sirocco vacuum surface cleaners with a smaller vacuum system so I think that you could probably run 3 of the 21" vacuum surface cleaners with the 23hp system. If you ran 3 of the tools vs. the 40" tool, it might be more productive but with the 40" tool there will be a lot less fatigue doing the same or more concrete.

It just depends on what you want to do and how you want to do it.

I don't know what I would rather do right now, I will have to see once I get my modified surface cleaners back from Jerry at Sirocco ( they are being outfitted with the newest technology and high tech parts available within the vacuum recovery industry right now) and then I will give them a try to see how much better they work.

That 40" tool is a great tool and worked good with 10gpm of hot water cleaning the concrete. I am sure that you can probably run more gpm's if you wanted to as the swivels are usually rated up to 8 or 10gpm each and there are 2 of them.

When I get some time I think I will do a side by side comparison of 2 guys with a 21" and the 40" to see which is faster. I am betting the 40" will outproduce it by almost 2 to 1 and save labor with less fatigue. In my opinion this system will pay for itself in one job based on time and labor savings.

I think one of the hidden benefits is the fact that it has the instant pickup you wont have to worry about flooding elevator shafts and stairwells in error.

nikro duel head vac.pump out.steal eagle 24 surface cleaner .to small..alkota oil water seperator.several small pumps.i would like to get a big vac.set up for the larger garages.like the 40 inch cleaner that paul/jerry have.anyone know whatv they are going for?

I forgot if it was $3k or $4k, there are some threads a while back that talk about it along with price but I forgot where they are.

Yep!

Larry, I've got that one and I use it all the time. I got the pump out version. It works for about 3 months then I throw it off the roof into the dumpster and pull the spare out of the truck.

I've told Jerry about my thoughts on what I think would be perfect for what I do, but he's busy and hasn't built it yet. (I'd probably be his only customer for it anyway)
