How much pressure do you use when cleaning hoods.
Be careful with high pressure on KEC.
Hello , when you say , you have them set for 180 degrees to clean commercial kitchen vents/ hoods / fans ect Is that Fahrenheit or Celsius ?Good questions Russ
My machines are 3500 PSI but I have a dual lance wand to reduce my pressure when needed, I have found that gallons pre minute to me is as important as PSI
I have two machines one is 4 gallons per minute and the other one is 5 gallons per minute. From my experience you can use less GPM and PSI to clean kitchen exhaust hood systems.
Is 5 gallons pre minute to much water when cleaning a hood system? No it will allow you to clean faster, I have used machines that produce less GPM and these machines also work OK, it seams to take longer with a smaller machine therefore using about the same amount of water pre job.
The other machine I have used is an electric pressure washer, 1200 PSI at 2 gallons pre minute and this machine will work and do the job just a little slower on the cleaning process
Hot water is a must when cleaning the exhaust hood systems; I have my machines set at 180 degrees to 200 degrees. I have read that some hood cleaners will set there machines at a higher temperature but I have found this adds to much ware and tare on the machine. So the PSI, GPM, and temperature all plays an important role when cleaning.
