3 cyl 26 hp caterpillar c1.1. $2,195 bare engine. Wondering how much gpm-psi this could put out?

8 at 3000 PSI. Maybe even 3500 PSI> and honestly, that is a screaming deal for a motor like that.

Seems a little much for the task at hand. Coolant and a radiator would be needed.

Diesel engines like this are not for the weekender or somebody unsure about how long you will stay in business. Your return on these investments come in owning and operating them for thousands of hours. Fuel economy will be easily 30% less then a comparable gas, and if you do the regular maintenance you should be able to get twice a typical gas engine life span.

I would love something like this again, but I can't justify throwing away a good running gas engine. Good luck, show us pictures of the final product if you do get it

Not any louder than my 18HP Kohler Magnum I bet. Was doing a Bob Evans @ 10pm and a guy staying in a motel next door came over telling me to shut it down because he couldn't sleep. I moved my rig to the other side of the resteraunt and finished the job. Man was he pissed!

I remember reading here that a diesel was worth one and a half gas horsepower? That being a 3 cyl caterpillar
I would think it could turn quite a bit of pump. Seems like a great price and it actually only weighs 200 lbs. The bell housing, radiator, exhaust etc would be a few dollars I'm sure. I bet it is pretty quiet actually, sure would be tough running a rig with that thing!
