How to protect wood floors on trailer from SH spills?

I have heard good things about the Herculiner stuff that they sell at Home Depot or Lowes, it is about $100 per gallon.

Has anyone given Ames research waterproofing compounds a try for sealing up their trailers? They make more than just the roof paints.

I buy pieces of EPDM. I glued to the floor and go up the walls about one foot. I box the other side and I kind of build like a shower pan. If something leaks it has nowhere to go. So yes, There is always some kind of fluid rolling around the truck. If there is a big spill i Park it on a Slight hill and scoop it out manually. That stuff is bulletproof.

Josh, so you tried the Rustoleum and Herculiner and both did not hold up?

Yeah, I used Rustoleum on my truck bed a while back. That didn't hold up at all. Not even a little. I tried Herculiner on my trailer floor, and had a little left over, and put a thin coat on my truck bed floor. The Herculiner didn't hold up long against the pump constantly leaking roof mix, but the rest of the trailer and the truck bed are doing so far so good. I can already tell Herculiner is much better than the Rustoleum.

What kind of truck bed coating do you guys use? I tried the rustoleum stuff they sell at HD for my truck, but if I spill degreaser, the coating literally melts right off. Haven't tried the two part epoxy stuff though.

Best this is lay a 1/4 inch piece of steel Over top and paint with air craft carrier marine paint

How much bleach do your guys carry Ron? Saw a big tex trailer the other day with the steel and wondered how it would hold up?

Lots of chemicals of all different sorts, tanks don't leak. We use bleach , works great on walks with sap from trees. I have sometimes much more corrosive and dangerous chems than bleach on vehicles. The paint cured this problem years ago. The stuff laughs at everything including a grinder.

What's it called, and where do you get it? I've heard the two part epoxy from Sherwin Williams that they sell for garage floors is used on aircraft carriers. Is that what you're talking about?

Let's get back to the part where the two dudes were yelling at each other. I have no social life, and reading these old posts can be tiring, but I like to learn. Every now/again you get a good one...

Somewhere, in the backwater that is NC, Guy is shaking his head, with a small tear running down his cheek like that Indian in those dumb ads from the 70s.

We all outta be a bit more like that Indian. We're better than this. Take it offline.
