Hydraulic fluid on vinly shake siding

I received a call from a cement and paver contractor, his machine spotted hydraulic fluid
down the side of a vinyl shake siding, he says its about 30 feet down the whole house and about one story high. The home owner is very upset so i'm going to help out

i was thinking hot water with a degreaser like dawn

any suggestions?
 
You got it half right ....Dawn and cold water or a good house wash.....Never use hot water on vinyl

I think you (they) may be in trouble with this one depending on how strong the acid was. I don't know that dawn will help you but you will want an alkline based cleaner to neutralize it. If it has been on there for a while I am sure the damage is done and you may not be able to reverse it.

There are some sealers that may bring the shine back as well as some paints made for vynal that can cover it up. That may end up being the route you end up taking.
 
How long ago did the accident happen?

Is the fluid stains dark or somewhat clear?

Sorry Chris it happened yesterday AM

I called the contractor and told him I could not be there for a few hours
He called be back and told me to hold off that the home owner is trying
To take it off with ammonia. A few hours later I didn't hear from him so I drove by the place remembering the address he told me. No one was around, I rang the home owners bell, no answer. I looked over the fence and seen the whole side of the house spotted (I guess the ammonia didn't work...lol).
So its not in my hands don't know if I will get a phone call or not but I can tell that home owner has got great pride in that house. The house had beautiful landscaping real nice curb appeal so I know then owner has got to be pissed.
