Hey everyone,

I have been browsing this site for about four months and have found some information that i couldn't have live without, yet i just decided to become a member. My friend and I started a fleetwashing service about six months ago and have proven it to be a successful venture and somewhat profitable (expecially only washing two day a week). the problem is that here in southern Utah it is becoming winter fast and i am afraid of the seasons really putting a damper on business.

I would like to expand my business to the cleaning of ductwork and exhaust systems of resturants. from the research i have done on this website it seems it may require much more knowledge than washing trucks. I would like some info as far as certification of IKEA and some references to schools that may provide this certification. Ive read that this certification is not neccessary yet I would be terrified to just jump into exhaust cleaning due to the liabilaties that are involved.

If there are any members who are willing to teach some of these methods located in the western states I would love to come and learn some of the techniques and practices within the business.

I live in Cedar City, Utah which is fairly small city but I have found that the closest competition is in either Las Vegas or Salt Lake City. The City is growing like crazy and I believe that venturing into this area of cleaning could be very rewarding amd enjoyable....

I would like any information,,, Phone numbers to whom I could talk to,,, Links to websites,,,, etc...

Thanks for everything in advance and I appreciate the responses....

It's more rewarding to dive in head first. Venturing is no fun. ;) There's nothing like a facesful of burger grease.

PS I would also like to know about pricing... I underbid many of my fleet jobs and i reget it immensely...

Josh,

Sorry about the Cardinals! I thought maybe I would be able to bet you some Chicago pizza!!

I would try and clean a couple of hoods with someone else before investing a bunch of money into hood cleaning/schools/equipment/insurance ect. Keep in mind that the first couple of hoods you clean wont seem that bad, but the more you do, the more they suck. There is nothing like a good chemical/steam burn at 4am to keep you focused!
