The facilities mgr never tells me when there is an event. I have to valets. In 2.5 hrs theres already been well over 150 cars through where I'm trying to work! And it sometimes goes on till 3am.
I am going to doulbe my price on this one. From now on.
And I the night work too! It ruins me for a couple days after.
I don't know how you night guys do it regularly

.

Hotels are a lot like apartments where they will never have the area free of cars, people always coming and going, etc.... You will have to price accordingly and let them know that you are trying to work as safely as possible.

I let them know that the soap I use will wash off any cars that are in the way but in our area there is very hard water which will leave a lot of water spots that I will not be responsible for so that is up to them to block off the area before I get there if they don't want to hear their patrons complaining to them.

I just finished an apartment complex that there were messages sent out to the people that live there on what days we would be doing which building and where for them to park.....they forget or did not get the messages they say and park where you will be working so you just have to work around them.

I have been seriously thinking of a different vehicle just for hotels or apartments instead of truck/trailer so I can park easier and get in/out faster when needed to.

All you can do is all you can do.

Jon why are you washing this at night, we don't show up at hotels until 10 am and out by 2pm , if the project takes multiple days we just come back. The place is pretty vacant during those hours. Now if it's s resort those are completely a different animal. Resorts you need management help to black out buildings so you can wash without interference from guests.

I love hotels and resorts, easy work usually very clean and safe working conditions.

Why would they have you have hotel work scheduled during the week before the memeorial day weekend at a hotel in Florida? Sounds like a recipie for a headache.

I do them on an on call basis. usually before something special. Last thursday he called and said he needed the whole thing done by this comming thursday. Im swamped every day for the next two weeks, but he pays well. so I broke it into two nights. But the only available night to finish was sunday.
There are just too many people there during the day, since its near the convention center, to manage.
Oh yeah, thursday is the Stanly cup playoff first game which the Lightning should have been playing in. and the hotel would have been swamped.
