Started the pressure washing side of my business in Feb. Work has been coming left and right. SO I decided to get a hot water unit. There is nothing like heat. I did an 1000 sq drive way and side walk today in about 30 minutes including drop and roll up, charge $125 and was on to the next property. Got to love that heat.

Heat is a beautiful thing, but dont waste money on diesel or propane on a residential driveway.

Put down some 12.5% with a surfactant first and it will come off real easy. Save the heat and your money for the tough stuff like dumpster pads or drive thru's!!

Same here on the SH. Mine is .98 per gal and DS'ing on most all the Driveways and Sidewalks down here probably only use up MAYBE 1/2 gal. Most Driveways that we Pressure Wash are pretty small. That happens when all the Houses are ontop of each other.

Heat will not kill the mold spores, and SH will. But if i were you i would listen to C&K as he has been doing this for at least a week!!

I have done driveways for 4yrs now and I sent you a PM so you think you could be nice and allow me to be open minded to learn a little. The 12.5 is 3.20 a gal. here. I guess you are in your own little clique on here huh? thanks for using this site for props instead of being a professional about this. I'll admit 4yrs isn't the longest time but I've done plenty of sidewalks and concrete!!!

Charles, I'm sure Nick was just goofing around. Take a look at his wb site and all his video's. Also take some time and look up past posts of Nicks, Russ Spence and a few others. They have probably Cleaned more Concrete than most of us will ever Clean. There really is alot to be learned on this BB. Just take a little time, do a little reading and you will see. :)

If i offended you than accept my appologies, i was just trying to save the guy a few bucks on diesel thats all..;)

Nick will also tell you it's OK to stick your hand in his truck window and pet his puppy dog. Just so he won't have to feed him that night.

If you're thin skinned you may as well pack it up and move on. It's worth the bruises for the education. I learn something almost every day.

12.5 here is between 1.90 and 2.50, only problem it is a 40 min drive from where I live. Could get it at 1.25 a gal but would have to buy 55 gal drum not ready for that yet.
Adrian,
who carry the 55 er's

You wouldn't want anything that is in our drinking water and swimming pools to evaporate down a curb on the way to a storm sewer.

Just an FYI: Here when the water company adds a new main line they "chlorinate it" for a few days. That meaning they pump a high percentage of chlorine down it for a few days and let it run into guess what? An open storm sewer. To kill bacteria before they allow homes to tap it. I just watched them do one less than 1/4 mile from my house.

You have me curious Jim on how they get away with that. I promise they do not have tanker trucks lined up to haul it away.

That is very similar to the process when they work on the insides of water storage tanks. When done working and SANITIZING, they just dump it all onto the ground, rinse it out a little bit and then close it up and start filling it with drinking water and open the valves to people's homes.

Remember Jim, Not everyone lives in California, not everyone reclaims like in some places, Not everyone works with the same rules you do.

Pushing this on people all the time is not helping to make friends, actually the opposite. If you are joking then put in some smiley faces so people will know otherwise people will think of you as a guy that.........well you know.

Just a FYI.

Tony brought up a good point a while back too. Look on the bottle of Drain-o and it says to dump a half gallon down your drain straight. Why can Drain-o get away with selling a product that goes directly into our sewers, but we get giant fines slapped on us for not reclaiming a pint of diluted chlorine????

Im all for keeping our waterways clean, but those rules are a money grab by the government and suppliers. (Not knocking all suppliers. Just ones who help write the rules. Seems like a conflict of interest to me.....)
