So I have been doing a lot research on equipment, and have a pretty general idea of what I want but still need advice. We are going to start off mainly focusing on residential (house wash, wood fencing, concrete) and then hopefully move in to commercial when we get a little more experience. I am outlining below what I do know we are wanting, as well as some questions we have on some of it. Really hoping to get some answers here and narrow it all down.
Trailer
Pressure Washer
Questions
Softwash
Surface Cleaner
Wands, Guns, Etc.
Chem’s and Mixes
Here I wanted to see if there is anything you guys would recommend picking up right off the bat to have when starting out.
Prebuilt Skid or Buy everything and set it up myself?
This is one that I am having a tough time with and just wanted to get some input on it.
Well I think that is everything…LOL
I look forward to getting your guy’s input on this, and thanks in advance.
Trailer
- We know that we are definitely going to be doing an enclosed trailer because of the weather in Colorado and for security purposes.
- Likely going to have a trailer that is between 12ft – 16ft with barn style doors, tandem 3500lb axles and electric brakes.
Pressure Washer
- We are wanting to go with a hot water unit nothing less than 5gpm and 3000psi, but if we can an 8gpm unit would be fantastic.
- From reading on the forums I know that we should look at something that has both a Honda or Vanguard engine and Becket burners.
Questions
- Are there other things to consider when looking at units? (Generator, HP, horizontal or vertical, etc..)
- What changes the price between units with similar specs? (BTU, coils of becket burners, etc)
- Should I be concerned with brands? We are looking at Pressure Pro and HydroTek.
Softwash
- Pretty sure that we are going to go with the new unit that Bill just posted from the pressurewashstore.com
Surface Cleaner
- Likely going to start off with the Whisper Wash Classic 19” and then get an additional larger unit when we start more commercial work.
Wands, Guns, Etc.
- Doug covered a lot of this and gave us a pretty solid understanding of what we need here.
Chem’s and Mixes
Here I wanted to see if there is anything you guys would recommend picking up right off the bat to have when starting out.
- We have found a local supplier for SH and will pick this up
- Likely going to go with Roof Snot for our surfactant
- I hear a lot of people liking EBC, should we pick this up right off the bat.
- Doug recommended Worlds Best Graffiti Remover any other inputs here?
Prebuilt Skid or Buy everything and set it up myself?
