Ignitor burnt out

I wanted to say thanks again for helping me out (I had the brand new rig in tucson that wasn't running right, I went with the yu unloaders).

My ignitor burnt out after about 20 hours.

Will I be able to tell why?

I have a 20 amp engine that runs at 3100 rpm
I took the relay out because it wasn't working with it, was gonna replace it ...

Is this ok - Switch - relay - motor and ignitor. or should power go seperately to the ignitor?

Beckett shows an optional relay just for the ignitor?

Do you think there is something better than the ignitor like a coil from a car or something?

Hope your doing well

I just saw how much ignitors are! I really want to avoid any further trouble. If it has 12v in and no spark, it's broke right? Is there anything that can be done with it?

Ususally not the little relays and stuff inside them short out.

Have your charging system checked to see if it is putting out the 20a it needs. If you are running 3100 rpm you may not be getting the full charge rate which will cause the problem. Also install that relay again it can really help protect it.

There are several things that can cause the Igniter to fry.

Number one is shutting the machine off with the burner switch on. The voltage from the engine will lower as it winds down causing an overload. Get in the habbit of cooling down your machine before you turn off the Engine. This will prevent that problem.
Number 2 is the Battery . If your battery is old it can fail under a load. This causes a lower voltage condition. The igniter will want more voltage and if the battery is not at 12v it will burn out the Igniter.

Number 3 The voltage Regulator on the engine can sometimes put out too much voltage causing the Igniter to fry.

Check your voltage under a load and see if it is high or low. It should be between 12 and 14v. Check the water in your battery or go buy a new one.
The battery is the most important thing you can maintain.
