Just thought I'd introduce myself properly.
Just found these forums about a week ago and I have to say the content is by far the best of anywhere around. It seems like a bunch of helpful people somehow managed to come together all in one spot. I'm glad I found it.
Anyway, just about all my life I've had idea after idea on businesses to run and nothing seemed to pan out. Finally I got the power washing idea and from that point I put in a good few months with a friend in Maryland that does primarily commercial cleaning. I got my business registered, got insurance, and here I am today.
I worked previously as a commercial sales manager for close to 6 years and then as a service manager for a garage for a year. I've always loved the art of selling...and I've read just about every book out there on the topic. I'd actually venture to say that I enjoy the selling aspect more than I enjoy the power washing aspect...and I look at my business as a sales and marketing firm first and a power washing business second. Without the sales and marketing, I don't think many of us would exist, unless it was by some accident that we kept landing jobs. Right out of highschool I was a mechanic and got my associates degree in automotive technology. I worked on cars for a good year to get by but always knew that wasn't the thing for me. I wanted to be the guy up front selling.
I just thought I'd throw up a little info about myself so you guys know who the new guy is.
