Is anyone doing this!

Last Monday morning I was driving to a job when I noticed all of the gas stations in my area had landscaping crews mowing the premises, so I had an idea! What if I was to contact the landscaping business who already has a contract with the gas station and have them offer pressure washing to their list of services. I could then have the jobs contracted out to me through the landscaping companies. I could offer the landscaping company a commision for every contract they get me.
Has anyone tried this? If not do you think this might be a good idea in order to land some contracts with gas stations and other businesses that already have a contract with a landscaping company?

We work with several landscaping companies, not the way you're talking about...they just refer us to the homeowners and we get all the money

I have relationships with several landscaping companies. Usually, I give them the estimate, to which they add 20% or so, and they pay me directly.

The most important result to the landscaper is that you do not embarrass them.

It's something to think about but while your thinking.... It might also give them the idea to start adding power washing to their business and leave you holding an empty bag. You have to find the right kinda people for stuff like this or they get greedy and decide to do it themselves.

Thats a really good idea you got their! Just make sure your contracting with another small business doing those services. Even if they saw it as extra money for them to be earning it would take them a while to have the man power and equipment to take your service away. But if its a larger, established landscaping business its the other way around.
