Keywords

What unusual keywords have you found that seemed to help get more traffic? After doing a lengthy review of our clicks and the search terms used to find us I don't think I have been doing a good job. Also, WAY too many broad search terms where they clicked on our ad for some reason!! "Husky Pressure Washer" search term got me 5 clicks costing $22.00 what a waste!!

Anyway what keywords work best for you in your different areas.

I use one keyword per adgroup. Pressure washing. Driveway cleaning. Gutter cleaning. Three
separate adgroups.
Take the keyword "pressure Washing"
If you are talking about adwords they will show your ads for power washing, pressure cleaning and any other configuration that is close, no need to add all those keywords. The more keywords you use, the more useless clicks you will get. Everytime I get clicks for another power washing company, I add that to my negative keywords. Also add, rent, rentals, supplies, supplier, hiring, job, hire and a bunch of other stuff people will click on your ad for.

If you are talking about organic searches that's when you incorporate "unusual keyword"s as long as they are relevant.

5 Clicks $22!!! My average cost per click is $1.25 and some as low as $0.25 . Too many keywords and you are bidding too high. Get your quality score up for your keywords and your cost per click and ad position will get a lot better. Here is some screen shots of my adwords account. One is for today I got 5 clicks and it cost me a little ove $7.

What do you mean Vince? Because Ty will take care of your SEO? Or are you talking about not having to use adwords? I'm not sure how a website would fare without keywords.

I'm just talking about not using adwords. Ty can take care of the SEO. When he did my sites I was on the first page of Yahoo, Google and Bing within a week or so.

Thanks for the input. And yes I am 5'9" and 265lb powerlifter so I guess it does describe me well!! Haha. My new guy is putting all of them into the negative keyword list. In Atlanta it seems to get first page on most good keywords it is $7-8.00 a click.

Yeah, you're a little bigger than me.

Ralph what is the best way to increase your quality score??

The way I did it is the way I showed you before. One keyword per adgroup insures that every time someone clicks on the ad the QS goes up ever so slightly. Lots of keywords seems to dilute everything. Also have to make sure the keyword is relevant to your landing page. Google will crawl your site looking for relevancy. When I first set up my account I had awful quality scores 3/10, 4/10. Gutter cleaning is 10/10, pressure washing is 8/10, driveway cleaning is 10/10. So I don't have to bid a fortune to have my ads in the 1,2,3,4,5 position. I don;t bid for the 1st position, I try to keep it at 5 or below. The fifth position is on the top tier right in plain sight with 1-4.
Heres todays tally so far. Got about 10 calls today, setup work for Sat. and Sun. ! September is a big nastygram(HOA letters) time around here. Dirty driveways are coming in fast.

Are you guys doing the pay per click? How are the results?

I have only heard bad things about them, have not tried them.
