Kohler Command 18 dies

No, that's a nice tester...I was suggesting a cheap one because you'll probably only use it twice in your lifetime.

What does it mean when my Kohler 18HP is making a clackity sound. It used to do it and then go away but now it does it all the time. It sounds like it's coming from the rocker arms. No loss in RPMs or pressure though. Oil level is ok also. Any help before I have to take it to my small engine repair guy?

Kohler uses hydraulic lifters, so you may have one that's collapsed, or you may have a loose rocker arm. Take the valve cover off and see what kind of play you have in the rockers.

Thanks Russ, I'll check it this weekend before I leave for Ohio Monday morning.
