Landa Water jet

I can get those as well but, Hydrotek is easier to work on.

I like that Steele Eagle but there are 2 Drawbacks that I wouldn't like about it. The Handle doesn't collapse so it would be tough for me to store it in my trailer unless of course you can order it with a collapsable handle. The other thing I don't like is that Swival wheel right in the front of the Bell housing. I would rather have 2 swival wheels on the Front sides so I can but up to whatever it is that I'm cleaning.

THat is the reason why I like the Big Guy From Elite(30") because it has the Collapsable Handle and the Front Swivals are on the sides.

Now if Steele Eagle could make there Surface Cleaner with the above set-up then I would consider buying it in the Future.

As far as a Surface Cleaner having adjustable spinning bars on it with that big hump in the middle I would pass on that everytime because I need my Surface Cleaners to go Under objects.

That's a really good poiint, John. Seems like that would cause alot of problems in certain environments.

Hi everyone,

I have read everybodys posts, and lot of what has been said makes sense. I have been pressure cleaning since I was a kid the last 8 years I have specialized in flat work and I was never happy with what the market had to offer as far as surfacers
so I built my own. I like to run two sizes 19 " and a 30". I found a partner to help me manufacture my concept of what I think a surfacer should offer, we should be taking it to market soon. If you could look at the site and give me feedback I would be greatfull.

I must have gotten lucky. I bought my setup used and it came with a Landa Water Jet. The PW was also a Landa (4GPM/3500PSI). The guy I bought it from offered me my choice of the Water Jet or a 30" Big Guy. I knew the 30"er would be too much for the 4gpm so I took the Water Jet. I think he really hated to see it go.

I really do love this thing. I've been using it for almost a year now and have yet to replace anything. Just keep it greased up...

I like:
the lawnmower style handle/trigger.
the attached gun/wand. the hose for this could be longer.
the adjustable spinner bar height. although my adjustment knob is a bear to turn.
the large pneumatic tires. smooth and easy on aggregate. my first job was 35,000 sq ft of aggregate sidewalks.
it's light

I wish Landa made a larger diameter version of the Water Jet. When I upgrade to my next machine, I'd love to have a 30 or 36 inch Water Jet to go with it...

Glad to hear everything is working out okay for you Joel. The Water Jet was the right choice with that machine, but the Big Guy rocks with 8gpm. Is the machine still doing okay? I had no problems with it, except the night before you bought it and flames and smoke were spewing into the air (LOL)

Hey Jeff. How's it going?

Yes, everything is going great for me. After I got it home, I tore it down completely and changed the fuel solenoid, the pressure switch, fuel nozzle, and put on an fuel filter/water seperator, cleaned out the coils and put in new insulation and everything works great. To tell you the truth, the only time I've had to run the hot water since I've had it is when I needed to remove some gum from a driveway. But I do mostly residential and property management work right now. If I go commercial, I'm glad to have the hot water available.

I've really ramped up my advertising this season and it's started to pay off. More work is coming in and I'm staying busy.

Thanks again for selling me the equipment and giving me the push in the right direction.

Great oldie
landa surface cleaner AKA water jet. Most guys will tell you they have a piece of equipment and they stand behind it. How far back I don’t know. I can tell you from personal experiences that the water jet is the best I have seen on the market today. Light years ahead of its competitors.

Top Eleven Reason I Use a Water jet

1. The handle does not fall to the ground. This is a public liability and workers compensation nightmare.
2. The body is plastic and very inexpensive to replace, not like the aluminum and metal ones. Believe me they wear out.
3. There is a wand on these machines to do small detailing. [[[[huge time saver]]]]]]
4. They have a separate gun valve control for safety. Please tell me if any other machines have this feature.
5. The hose is on a swivel so it does not get in your way.
6. Twenty-four inches wide. Can fit in small places such as kitchens and trash bin areas with out being to clumsy.
7. Designed properly for the amount of water and pressure combination. Surface cleaners that are larger require more machines and most guys don’t have it. Standard operating equipment 3500 at 6 gal needs larger equipment if you’re going to run larger surface cleaners and reach the same cleaning units. As they say bigger is always not better. Larger surface cleaners at 3500 6 gals. Will only move slower, sure they cover more area {{{slower}}}. That’s the key word {slower}.
8. Light weight
9. They have and adjustable swivels so you adjust how close you need to clean.
10. They move forward and backwards, lift up on the handle and they move lateral.
11. You can use one hand to control this surface cleaner.
This equipment here is so old I can’t remember how old it is. It has the original stainless steel handle. It is now sold with a powder coated steel handle {they don’t hold up as well} the handle replacement is only $27.00 dollars. The unit retails for about 1595.00 you can negotiate down to 1000.00. The dealer cost is about 865.00. Yes more than most even double the cost, You will not be disappointed. I have owned many of the other brands and I don’t have a single one left. I think if you have never used a water jet rent one and you will surely buy one. I posted this not because I’m a rep for landa but because I have a strong belief in this piece of equipment and I don’t want to see other guys make the mistakes I made going with cheaper brands. The rookies out there don’t know nor have a strong conviction and sometimes are clouded buy the price. Someone tells them they need the biggest they can get. The next week a restaurant calls to clean the restroom, opps the monster won’t fit in there. Now you have spent all There capital on hose reels, guns, lances, trailer ect. Now they turn down their first job because they have a surface cleaner that’s to large to go anywhere and even when they run it in open spaces there equipment cant push it because that 6 gal a min 3500psi machine doesn’t push it well. When the standard machine becomes 4500 at 8 gals a min I will buy one. Yes I know there are some of you who have these machines that’s great. Remember I said standard popular not custom. All major manufactures won’t go over 4000psi for liability reasons. We all know why they run six gallons a min. {couldn’t get water out of a 5/8 line} some of you guys enjoy the info, some of you can disagree.

Oh let's see, I have a water jet and I wish the handle could extend maybe another 3 or 4 inches, it's just a tad to short. The hose gets in the way when I am washing and I have yet to find a good solution to it. It cleans well enough, but I do like the versatility of the floating surface cleaners better. I can also mount a floating surface cleaner to my wall, while the Landa needs to sit on the floor of the van. If I could get a floating surface cleaner with the Dublin swivel I would probably like it better. I prefer the hose to attach at the end of the handle, like the floaters, instead of midway up like the landa.

Of course the for longer extended jobs the upright handle and wheels are nice, just wish it was a bit taller.

Chris only uses waterjets now. He's got a hammerhead or something like that sitting at the back of the warehouse with parts scavenged off of it that he's had nothing but problems with. Haven't tried a Big Guy yet since he only has the 6gpm installed, but we might try it when he's done painting the flatbed which has a 8gpm SLT Landa on it.

He did go to buy arms???? (is that what you call them?) for one of the waterjets and they tried to get him at $20.00 each and we talked them down to $16.00 each which is still ridiculous for two pieces of pipe. That's the only negative about these machines I can think up other than the $400 swivel that seems to last forever.

Still Use them everyday
just about everyone knows , i love this thing.

if you have one let me know what you think, good or bad. i want to know , if your having trouble maybe I cant help.

my only problem is that parts are expensive.
