Let's Talk About Down Streaming Mixes

Alright everyone well I see a lot of talk soft washing and I know there are a lot of mixes out there for use with chemical pumps. I know a lot of you state that you cannot get a sufficient mix down streaming but for the ones that are doing it, what solutions and mixes do you use?

I would like to know what you are using for Flat Surfaces, Roofs and House washing...

If you can please give me some feedback on this I would greatly appreciate it.

Lots are Downstreaming. There are many threads on this subject. Your ratio will depend on a lot of variables. Equipment, type of surface being cleaned, and how dirty the surface is.

I like the X-Jet. I calculated formulas many years ago using this method for myself and later for my customers. This way I get the correct concentration I need. This way saved me quite a bit of time and I taught many to cut their house wash time in half.

Downstreaming is fastest by far to me. Like was said above, it really depends on your equipment (gpm mainly and type of ds inj you have)

As an example on residential siding, we use an 8 gpm machine with a general pump fixed injector. I mix 3 gallons of 12% with 2 gal water and add about a quart of my detergent to give it a lil suds to "cling"

Roofs can't really be downstreamed
Concrete, I downstream a degreaser mixed 1:1 with water and pretreat any bad spots with 1:1 mixture in a pump sprayer. If there is any mold on the concrete, I use my house wash mix on it.

X-jet has its place I guess but I very rarely used mine. Was just a lot easier to leave everything on the trailer.

Been hearing a lot about the X-Jet. Is there a way to get chemicals up high without it, by just down streaming?

Great Post

I use 0 degree 30 orifice thru 70 orifice nozzles for soap nozzles for the high stuff. Can usually do three stories from the ground without a problem from the ground. Most of the time I rinse with the same nozzle I used to apply the soap that high. Just either pull the hose out of soap tank or turn off ball valve on soap hose. I have cleaned up to 4 stories from the ground on days with very little wind.

GREAT INFO Cooper!! You really are helping me a great deal with the info, thanks again and keep it coming!!

The cleaning I've been doing has just been concrete and I've had success with just hot water and pressure. I've ordered my first downstream injector and will try it when it arrives.

After reading this thread, I'm going to mix a 5 gallon stock with half purple power degreaser and half water. Is that correct? Or bleach? Any other information for a newbie?

Samstewart1979, please fill out your signature, house rules. People will help you more when they know who you are and where you are from in your signature along with the other info there, just how it is.

We all have the cheezy competitors in our backyards reading these forums that will not register or post but want to search the whole site and learn all they can from in the background without being a part of the group.

This is one of many reasons signatures are required here, we want all members to participate and be part of the group but also to know who they are, the company info, where they are located, etc.... More will feel comfortable helping you once they know your info. Just the rules.

I can't get my logo to post, so I just typed it out. I hope that is sufficient. Also, I completely understand the reason for needing the signature filled out. "Billy Bob" with Billy Bob's Pressure Washing (using equipment he got at Lowes) can steal all kinds of info and all of a sudden Billy Bob is an expert.....

No that's not the reason, if that was the reason the bbs wouldn't exist. Teaching raises the standards and eliminates billy bob.

The reason for the signature eliminates trouble. People who come with handles often just want to start trouble. That's the real reason
