What do you use metered mail for?

Are you joking DJ? I would have assumed you had several of these with your marketing company.

The first machine, folds, inserts whatever you want inserted into the envelope.

The second is postage meter. It stamps the envelope. You prepay and run them through, no going to buy stamps, no going to the post office, no stick stamps on envelopes.

I bet he was talking about why aren't you using a bulk mail permit.......It's like .14 per piece.

•Handle all mail types – send letters, flats and parcels for multiple classes and services
•Get more postage anytime – refill your postage meter online or through an analog phone line 24/7 (see Specs tab for system requirements)
•Track your results – use delivery confirmation services
•Be precise – calculate exact postage, every time, with built-in scale
•Semi-automatic postage meter that prints postage at 30 letters per minute
•Send large mailings – get up to 3000 impressions with each ink cartridge!
•Easily promote your business – put your logo on the envelope
•Manage your metered mail costs with one simple powerful solution – DM100® Digital Mailing System for small business

The DM100® Digital Mailing System supports all your mailing needs. With a semi-automatic letter feed, built-in scale, and fast print speed, it’s flexible enough for large volume mailings, yet perfect for the smaller ones. And you can track postage expenses for different accounts!

Unless you're doing thousands of piece a month, every month, I dont see the point of a Pitney Bowes machine.

I do, it goes through the meter and applys the bulk rate.

Mike can you upload mailing list to it? If so does the list get printing on a label or the piece of mail. Call me when you get free....

We do 1000's each month, have a Bulk Permit and this prints your Permit number and you get the Buld savings as well.

We will be doing alot more now....I always dreaded the mailouts. I would hire someone to do it or pay one of my employees...this makes it much easier in a fraction of the time.

Time is Money.

How do you get your addresses on the mailer? Postcards/letters

Mike I thought new what they were.

I didn't know if you had alot of invoices going out. All my marketing peices in the toma campaign are hand addressed and get a irregular stamp.

Any bulk mailing I go through an affiliate company.
Given I do have a administrative assistant and a system in place so untill we get to pumping out i dunno 200+ invoices a month I'm going to stick with regular postage.

Neither of these address the envelopes.....simply stamps, folds and stuffs. We label them ourselves.

We also have lots if invoices that go out monthly for both sides of the business and it is very time consuming and cumbersome.

Specific targets are dealt with in a different manner. The size and scope of everyones business is different as well....what is expensive to one company may be pennies to another.

When we got to ovr 1000 invoices per month in the dry cleaning business it took four people an entire night per month just to do all the folding, sorting and checking bills (and most of those were automatically billed credit card customers.

After our third year in business it took one person all day just to punch in all the credit card charges.

The machines saved a LOT OF TIME and manpower. And being able to automatically bill without punching in a terminal saved a whole day's work.

Those were the days. Now it's all pretty easy.
