log cabin call

i got a call for a log cabin to wash, they want it re-stained and treated but they haven't got any idea of what to use or what kind of wood it actually is(which i'm pressing them to find out before anything).any thoughts on what to use would be greatly taken. thank you!

If you have never done one of these you have some studying to do before jumping in. If you think there is liability with decks, this is a house and a whole other sort of animal.
