Losing a commercial account

If you have once lost an account, reflecting back on the situation are you able to pin point why the account was lost? What would you of done better to try and prevent it?

Please share so that we all can learn from eachother's experiences.

Make sure you show up every time and when you say you will. Be consistent in your quality no highs and lows in quality.

I lost an account, was not very happy because I had done nothing wrong. It was down to who you knew, and that was how it went. I was glad though about 6 months later that I had lost it because the company went bankrupt, and I am sure the guy that got it was out a lot of money.

There is no best way to prevent it, you do the best job at the cheapest price, and lose the account to a new guy that is just a smother talker. Keep in contact with those that make these decisions and make sure they are happy with your service and if they have any questions to just ask.

Remember, somebody had to lose the account prior to you getting it, things go both ways sometimes.
