Making a house wash mix

I use TSP for Decks, I add about 1lb per gallon for a strip, seems to work well with just a little pressure. I sand the rails and spindles anyway so the fuzzies are not a problem. I am always open to a better method. I like the family dollar 8.25 in my house wash, cheaper and no issues with plants. Amount really depends on how dirty and what kind on house.

The Family Dollar brand Bleach, its 8.25 and cheaper for me than the 12.5 I use in roof wash.

I washed a stucco house on Wednesday. Home Depot bleach mixed with the HDX bleach cleaner from Home Depot worked wonders for me. Customer came home and couldn't believe how clean her house was. I use to use an xjet but it puts out a lot of chemical and to me it wastes a lot too. BCE Cleaning Supplies has a chemical tip that shoots about 30ft and it also shoots a nice wide fan spray too, all in one tip (I haven't seen it on their web site, I bought it in their store here locally in Calhoun GA). Pull up on it for the fan spray and push it down for the 30ft spray. Its better than an xjet for washing houses in my opinion. Simple Cherry is good too, but I noticed some white residue on the concrete porch where I didn't rinse it enough. Went back and rinsed it again and it came off just fine!

I've noticed that if you don't pre wet the windows and rinse them almost immediately,Roof Snot tends to dry quick, and leave some pretty terrible looking streaks on the windows. Even on a small house, if I soak 2 sides of the house at a time, by the time I remove the downstream siphon from the bucket and clear my line, the windows are already starting to dry and streak. Especially on a sunny Florida day. Roof Snot is a great product, and I would not accept any substitutes for a steep roof with no gutters. But other products have seemed much more forgiving when it comes to Windows.

Was just remembering that I posted this a while back. Just wanted to update, and say I have not had any issues with Roof Snot streaking windows since then. The windows actually turn out pretty nice. Not sure what has changed, maybe I was just putting too much Snot in the mix, and it wasn't rinsing all the way off or something. Have even had a few weeks of really hot, sunny weather, and still no problems with windows drying too fast.

We have had happen a couple times where we are finished and loaded up. In walking the property to make sure everything is picked up, we notice a window w dried mix on it we missed. We grab the customer water hose rinse it and it comes out perfect.

I'm glad to hear it's working well for you now.
