max hose length

It seems I've read somewhere awhile back that the longest you want your hoses is 150 ft for water hose and 200 ft for high pressure hose.
This is how I'm set up and I've found sometimes the truck needs to be moved to get everything.
what do you guys think?

You will lose pressure as the hoses get longer, just depends on the situation and what you are cleaning.

I have run a couple 500' long supply hoses to keep the trailer supplied with water for 2 machines running.

I have run 1225 (almost a quarter mile) of pressure hose to wash apartment buildings (don't need pressure as the detergents do a great job).

With 3/8" pressure hose and running 5.5gpm, you will lose about 135psi every 100' of pressure hose, same hose running 8gpm you will lose about 300psi every 100'.

Because of the low pressure of the feed hose, you will only lose a negligible amount. I usually have at least 300 feet of feed hose on my trailers, because of their constant usage.

we like 200 but often add a couple hundred more if we need to. sometimes it makes it a little harder to draw chems and we seem to blow hoses more often running longer lengths. Maybe that's because the spike pressure builds up more before sending it into bypass??? It might also have been my unloader causing the blown hoses.

300' water hose (3/4"), 340' pressure hose (1/2"). The reach is great for flat work. I always try to get one-piece hoses.

1225'

That's a lot of hose Chris!

Sometimes you cannot get the truck and trailer close enough and when the people living in the apartments are supposed to not park in certain areas so we can park there to access the buildings, what can you do? I try to talk to the managers but sometimes they cannot do anything so I just bring a lot of hose and get the job done.

On that job I had to roll up the hoses every day because we could not leave them there, they are a trip hazard and then the next day unroll them and connect them.

That was a great job and paid great, next time things will be different when I do that place again.

Hind sight!?!

Not really hind sight, just evolving the business and learning better and more efficient ways of doing things.

awesome, great info. I believe my hose reel only goes up to 250 feet but hey thats another 50 I can add that I didnt have before.

What is there two Tiger wash in Baton Rouge?

Other guy is new to this business, like a couple months new.
I don't know if he named his company so close to mine in hopes of picking up extra work or what
