we're thinking about moving to virginia next summer. and i'm trying to figure out what to do with my business. i do mostly commercial flatwork.

should i sell it? or should i try to take it with me? does anyone with bigger companys hire employees with there own rigs?

does anyone reccomend any specific part of virginia to move to? we're trying to narrow down our search. it would be nice to get some advice from the locals.

thanks for any input

I would sell your accounts where your at now!!!

Go to Virginia and start another company and kick butt!!!

Ditto to the above. Start by calling your competitors to see if they're interested. Do you have any actual contracts, or are they all verbal agreements??? Contracts would be worth more, obviously.

Good luck.

Why walk away from your accounts when you could find someone that would love to take them over.

If you plan on staying in business take your rig with you, if you plan to find work sell it.

Rosco,
What part of Virginia are you looking at? I live near Williamsburg, about 40 miles east of Richmond. There is alot of work here. I am doing residential and some commercial flat work.

first we were thinking of northern, but we would like to get a nicer home and it seems like prices get better down south.

is there a very big difference in climate?
any snow in southern virginia?

whats the pressure washing industry like on the east coast? i don't want to come in and step on anyones toes. esspecially no one from this board.

thanks for all your input.

Winters seem to be nonexistent lately, I guess that means were are due. We got by without winterizing most nights last winter. Northern Va (DC area) averages less than 20" of snow, less than that the last couple of years. We tend to ge more snow farther west. As for the washing industry I don't work that end of it, so I don't think I can offer a informed opinion
