Guys Ive been looking trough here about muratic acid and different uses, not trying to sound impatient but have a customer that seems to be pretty pursistent on using this to clean and remove what seems to be paint on a strip mall sidewalk. Headed there right now to get some pictures so you guys can have a visual. Any and all input welcome always will have pics shortly:confused:  Here are some pics all but the fourth pic is of where the paint is or what appears to be paint the second pic is a close up of one and five three seems to be a recently painted surface because when i did a test spot it lightened it to almost what the large surface looks like could it be some kind of stain the fourth pic is a test spot i did on another area in which he still insists on muratic acid but the clean spot you see was just a quick little cold water wash with little to no effort. But problem also is how do you convince a customer that there wrong and to let you do your job i have a chemical called HDL that was given to me for trail by a supplier to see what it does for gum but havent used it yet do yall think this would have an effect or no.

Muriatic will clean concrete. It will not however, remove paint.
Most paint removers are sodium hydroxide or alkali based. They remove the paint by softening it and then it can be pressure rinsed off of the surface.
Acid does not soften paint but rather etches or eats into it. I would not recommend trying this on concrete.
Muriatic requires careful use as it can be harsh on concrete.

I agree. The wrong chem for the job.

Hot water, cold water, rotary nozzle, paint thinner? IMO-- Try an act of God! That looks like they put down a real good concrete paint some years ago and I do mean some years ago. I highly doubt that is gonna come off. At least not completely. Not trying to sound negative here but whoever is asking you to remove all that paint has got to be a big fan of Magic...I think they need to let you clean it the best you can and then start looking at color swatches and pick a color they can live with and repaint it. Like I said, JMO
