I'm knew too commercial flat work here in Houston Texas. I really need help because my pressure washer has been in two different shops these past 3 months. These guys just don't seem to be able to fix the problem. These are both two reputable shops in Houston Texas, but they just can't seem to fix my machine it works fine heats up and throws out 3500 psi but it blows out a lot of white smoke. Both of the shop say they've been through the whole machine and just can't seem to figure out what's wrong they say the igniters are good, they just put a new belt on it, the guy says he repack the coil insulation and also blew the side of the coil. Does anyone know what else could be wrong with this machine I really need it fixed I am trying to start up my business down here but there is no way to start with out this hot water pressure washer. So if any of you could suggest a good shop down here in Houston Texas or point me in the right direction your help would be greatly appreciated thank you.

(Its the 3004 unit that does not need a battery to run )

I've already been to humble manufacturing and action cleaning equipment both just could not get it fixed.

Please help

Thanks

Is that one of the portable ones with the 2 small smoke stacks? I've got one in the shop right now that I'm about to take a hammer to.

White smoke is usually an indication of unburned fuel evaporating away.

If it is 12v I would see about putting a battery in it and see if that fixes the issue. Hook up a battery with jumper cables to see if your problem goes away, if it does you know the problem. The description you have given says there is not enough voltage and there for the fuel is only getting partially burned.

Benjamin, this is a weird duck of a machine. It uses a small engine style ignition coil and a flywheel with magnets to make spark for the burner, and the fuel pump and blower fan are belt driven.

The one I'm working on had no spark. Changed the ignition coil and still no spark. Looks like the flywheel is the next to go.

Any way to change out the whole burner/blower unit and just put in a 120v or a 12v replacement? If it was me, make it 120v and use a small inverter generator and get rid of the problem all together. Sounds like a fun machine to work on that looked great on paper to some engineer out there. Hope you find a solution though!

Juan....if you want you can have my mechanic look at it. You'd have to bring it to my house, as that's where he does all my repairs. He'll be here int the next couple weeks to do maintenance work on one. Text me at 281.883.8470 if you want to hook up.

BTW the only shop I have found that I trust is over off Stubener Airline in the Spring Area.

I had one of those once. What a pain in the rear end. I had a mechanic that bypassed the magneto. Remote mounted an igniter, and used spark plug wires to the leads going into the burner. It worked like a charm after that.

Thanks alot doug i would really appreciate that, im going to have to go pick up the machine later this week becuse the guy tells me he currently has it taken apart not sure how true that is but i will call you and let you know again thaks doug.

Thanks scott great info, and was your machine was having the same problem.

Yes it was. The Magneto was shot, so that was the workaround

Of your getting three amps, it will be really expensive.

If you don't have a heavier charging system, the igniter won't work. Usually the machines with bigger charging systems have electric start.
