I purchased a Hotsy model 1260a, and whoever had it destroyed the wiring. I just got the engine tuned up - it works great. I need to find a wiring diagram for it - all of the wires are detached and between the control box and the heater; and the control box and the engine. Can anybody help ?

thanks,

Did you get this from Ennis???

Did you buy this knowing that the wires were in that condition or you found out later on?

Does the burner work?

I had a problem with my Hotsy 1295SS with the relay and rectifier going bad and to finish a job (I could not wait for the parts to get here, the supplier was out and they were on back order and the parts could not be found locally) I took out the relay, switch and rectifier out of the control box and put in a simple toggle switch to control the burner.

The problems with running it this way is that your hour meter does not work now, if you forget to turn off the switch it will kill your battery eventually and one more thing but I forgot what that is right now.

I ran it like that for a couple months but I eventually had another problem with the machine and took it to where I bought it (out of town) and had them re-connect the wires, put in a new switch, relay and rectifier. It took them about 3 hours to get it back together while looking at the book the whole time.

I tested it before I left and it runs good and everything is back to normal.

I like that lighted switch because if the burner is turned on, the switch has a yellow light and you can see that from far away so you know it is on, helps when you forget if you turned it on or not.

In the black thermostat control box there are several black and red wires of different thicknesses, relay, rectifier and on the outside of the box you should have the round temp control and a switch to turn the burner on and off.

If you have the skills to determine what is what then I would work on it myself but I took everything apart and forgot where things go, I did draw a picture of everything but lost the picture.

Now I keep the spare relay and rectifier with me in the truck.

The relay and rectifier are different from what you can find locally at the auto parts stores, best to get those from the dealer.

Do a search on google on that Hotsy model and you should be able to find it.

Good Luck.

You can get alot of your burner parts from a hvac supply house for your burners, your nozzles, fuel pumps, electrodes, ect.
