Welcome Charlie!! You will learn SO much by just searching for what topic you want to know about. There is so much knowledge on this bbs. I know I've learned a ton since joining. Lots of great people too!

For the invoices, I use Quikbooks Pro. You can track all your expenses, and print/email invoices, statements, etc. to customers. I think you can still download a FREE demo called Quickbooks Simple Start that will let you use it to track up to 20 customers. You can generate unlimited invoices for those 20 customers, with no time limit as far as I know. So until you get over 20 regular accounts, you won't need to spend any money on it.

For the contracts, I know Ron Musgraves has posted some samples in the past. You should be able to find them in a search.
