I am a tile and grout cleaner who does some peoples vinyl siding p.w. on the side. Just bought a new heavy duty cold water p.w. I hope to do more p.w. this year. does anyone know if i need a contractors license in nys,i have insurance for my cleaning bus. anyway i like this site thanks

Not sure if NY requires a special license i think just a standard business lic. is all that is required. Perhaps someone from NY will jump in.

If you just do cleaning you shouldn't need a lic. But if you are doing power washing on a home and you blow a peace of siding off the house. Then you need a lic. to fix the siding.

hey power washing guy in L.I. i hear alot of bad stuff about the dec in nys and the waste water from power washing.I plan on doing everything by the book,the dec headquaters are a block away.I plan on stopping by there and asking for info.I clean some friends houses already & have the tools.this year i have more custys asking me about P.W. when i do tiles.I think it would be a good ad on service if its not a big pain with my bus insurance and licencing.what do you think? thanks for your help. by the way my mother is from levittown i spent a lot of time at jones beach. thanks rick
