New Machine

I am looking at buying a higher volume machine (8g.p.m) with high heat. Or even a cold water unit with a hot box in the next few months. I would like to do some research and get an aproximate price. I have visited the websites of Russ, Mark, Jerry, Paul and Pete. It seems that nobody advertises the higher volume machines on the web. Why is that?

Would anyone interested in making a sale please post a link with prices or p.m. me some info? I'm sure other contractors wouldn't mind taking a look also....I would be interested in all reputable brands.

I wont be buying tomorrow but pretty soon.

If any contractors would like to share their opinion's on machines I'm all ears!
Thanks.

I do have some high volume skids listed here. or more specifically here and here. I do carry Hydroteks now as well but don't have them on the site yet just call and I will be happy to quote you a price.

Dollar for dollar your best deals will be on a skid unit but if space is more important a cold water unit and vertical heater will be a better option.

What are you washing? I would not go any higher if your attempting to wash accounts on regular basis. 6 Gallons would be my choice.

8 is great but you have more energy and with more cleaning units. The problem might be water, 7.3 gallons is the average in a city connection per minute. If you have a reserve you will have no issues, my guys use direct hook ups when they are washing shopping centers and will be there all night. 8 doesn't work in this situation very well. We have a tell gallon diesel unit we used to wash cranes with years ago. Bought this for one application only, I have never used it anyplace else, its cold water but comes out on average of 180 degrees. LOL yep thats right its cold water at 10,000 PSI powered by a diesel. Yes it a Old Landa unit made in 1991, I have not fired it up since 1996. The price tag was 16,000 for a cold water unit. I imagine they might be cheaper, the motor is

We lagging on updating our website, and we will be fixing several things there, but we do show up to 35hp systems
Call with any question, as we specialize in custom systems..
Have it Your way ! any engine, any pump, any configuration.
And.. we fear no Horsepower !
Our standard versions can be purchased through any of our dealers,
custom versions requiring our direct engineering time can be sold directly,
but a commission, prearranged, will go to the Sirocco and/or BullDogPro dealer closest to you.

True Ron, if you dont have the water supply, its better to have a dual pumper, shut down a pump if you dont have the input to keep up with output. Or you can waste energy like I have done on occasion.

It would be nice if plumbing situations were consistent here.

I have done commercial jobs where I had to connect 2 supply hoses to run the 5.5gpm machine by itself and on some other properties I can run the 8gpm and 5.5gpm machine from 1 water supply hose. The same with residential work, you just never know as a lot of the plumbing is old, corroded, plugged up, etc....

You would think that things would be consistent but here they are not. I always keep extra supply hose on the trailer for these situations as they happen all the time.

I would like to push a 28" surface cleaner alot faster than I have been with a 5.5 g.p.m. machine. I do have tanks so supply is not an issue.

The ultimate plan is building a new trailer unit. Bigger machine, reclaim and filtration. So I'm trying to do some home work and come up with a plan. After seeing a hydrotek reclaim system first hand in action I am positive the reclaim system will not be hydrotek.

This is not going to happen overnight. But more than likely one piece at a time.

8 gpm's will push a 28" surface cleaner nicely, 10 gpm even faster with the right nozzles.

I think it was Phillip over on PT State that mentioned a good rule-of-thumb is 4" of surface cleaner deck size for every 1 gpm of flow from the pressure washer so with 8gpm, that would be about 7gpm.

I can move the 24" surface cleaners at a decent speed with 5.5gpm but with 8gpm they can go a lot faster without leaving swirls.

I agree about the Hydrotek vacuum/recovery system, there just seems to not be enough vacuum or enough filtration to trust that system to re-use the water back into the pump of the pressure washer. It might be ok on residential driveways and sidewalks but I would not try it on drive-thru lanes, dumpster pads or really dirty concrete areas like parking lots.

Their vacuum is not enough to pick up all the water from their own vacuum surface cleaners with only 5.5gpm water just not enough cfm's and lift but also the design of the surface cleaner can be made more efficient. The Sirocco vacuum surface cleaner is about the most efficient by far out of all the brands I have seen, used or tested.

You don't need a huge gas powered vacuum system to use the Sirocco 21" vacuum surface cleaner, a high end Eagle Power vacuum system or Nikro Dual Head system will work fine for picking up the water, the pump out on the Eagle is also a good design from what I hear. The Nikro does not come with a pump out so you would have to add your own if you go that route.

Keep in mind Cali has laws on emission on burners and small gas motors. There's and extension right now but no one knows what's actually going to happen. Ceta is fighting it right now.

True Chris C, my problem with electric vac is that they are power hungry and they cant produce higher lifts with the 2" opening cfm rating. But I still want one.

My above post was not in any way bashing on hydrotek. Infact I beleive their skid units have a very good reputation. I have had two of their 28" surface cleaners, sold one. But have been very pleased with them.

I was just not impressed with the reclaim system.

Chris you can give your real opinion here brother, if the dist or manufacture can't take your true thoughts then they can leave.

PWI is a place about honesty , as long as you have actually seen this its cool.

Its the folks who bash intentionally and have never seen the stuff in action. Thats BS!!!

Hydrotec should call you I would, this can help them understand why they are not impressing contractors.

Personally my choice is Landa, I do own several hydrotec Machines.

My post was not to bash Hydrotek, I hear great things about their pressure washers. It is their surface cleaners, specifically their vacuum recovery surface cleaners that don't perform too good with their vacuum system that they sell. You can see the water running away from the area in the demo's.

Infact I contacted Hydrotek for more information before this thread was started.

Chris,
Keep an eye on your mailbox. Your requested catalog is on its way to you via postman.

If for some reason you don't receive it in a couple days, let me know and I'll resend it to you.

Sincerely,
Denise
